305/35/20 All Around

So I really like the Goodyear Eagle F1 G2's, they are very predictable and grippy in the warm. I don't remember seeing a thread on it but has anyone ever tried running a 305 square setup? what needed to be changed in the front end?

I am going to be running Time Attack next year and was thinking of going this route.

I am also adding a LG G6X3 Cam Package, TSP Headers, OffRoad Pipes and Exhaust and will want the extra grip.

I've seen pics of 305's all the way around, and they stick out about an inch in the front. If you look closely at the Z28, it has fender flares.

It may be too much for the front wheels, I'm sure you could go 295 35 20 without too much difficulty.

Anybody try running the rear wheel up front? Will it clear the strut?

I'm going to imagine with the current setup you would have some rubbing issues when you turn the tire all the way. You could turn the wheel all the way & both directions & see if you can see how much clearance is back there. 305s are some really wide tires, especially up front. The z28 rims probably have a different offset than the ones we have up front.

Pedders runs 305/19 square setup on their car. They use Forgeline wheels with a 'special' offset. You can get the same setup. PM Nine Ball on this site and he will hook you up with whatever combo you need. FYI he told me that with that setup I would be throwing a lot of gravel on my car so its not optimal for a DD. I'd like to get the fender flares the Z28 has so I can run that wheel/tire combo.

I've heard 305/20s wont fit on Camaros(up front). That's why Pedders and GM went with 305/19s

I'm running 295/35 up front with a 20x10.5 rim and they fit perfect no rubbing and stick out. I think 305 would be pushing it

What are the offsets on your wheels? I would like to get a 295 or maybe 305 on the front also.
