Hit a deer last night

Happened on Rumson Road in Rumson, NJ around 9:00. Augh. Going in for repairs on Monday.

Anything I should let insurance/body shop know when I drop it off? Such as no cheaping-out on parts?

Looks like they will replace that quarter panel, make sure they blend the door and bumper to get the color to match, If they were to fix that quarter panel I would picture alot of bondo on it which isnt good and also read reviews of the shop your taking it to make sure its not a bunch of bootlegers.

if they do repairs make sure your insurance company pays the diffreence between values (with and without damage) in NJ you are entitled to the depreciated value difference

Thanks for the tips so far.

I was thinking they might just pop it out...there are a few minor surface scratches I was thinking they could get out.

The depreciated value payment is something I had no idea about. Is there a technical term for this when I call and ask about it?

Ok big problem guys. They can't replace the quarter panel. Go watch the factory video the entire half of the car is one sheet of metal. The will be a pop out as much as they can and then BONDO.

I think they can replace the quarter panel but its alot more than just the damaged area so they will not replace it!!!! A good body shop will pull the dent or dents out with a spot welder and puller very little bondo will be used!!! Be glad your camaro is sliver there is only two color diffrances avalible for your car a little feathering will be a must so the old and new match up well!!!!!!!!

sorry for your trouble, must be real upsetting. Did deer run into you or did you sideswipe it? how fast were you going? day or night? on the positive side, if you can, it could have beeen a lot worse I have seen some massive damage caused by deer...find the best body person you can..good luck

That sucks sorry to hear the news. Of course it couldnt hit the door or front fender which is easily replacable. It had to hit the quarter panel which they will probably have to pull out and use filler. I hope it all works out for you.

Damn sorry to see that. They can put a new quarter on it if they have to. The majority of the dent could be pulled and dollied out though but around the gill area is gonna be a little core complicated to fix, looks like a good time to cut those custom vents in the quarters. I would just look for a good body shop to fix it.
