Zl1 Armor

Could some of you who have owned your zl1 for awhile point me in the rite direction on how you protect your zl1s. I previously had a 1le and I loved the car but my wife drove the car to work a lot, even tho it is a close drive I did not know any better and in the short 6-7 months we owned it my gills were very beat and my front facia was chipped pretty well also and the car seemed to wear fast even though I keep on top of cleaning and waxing. Now that I have got the opportunity to "start over" I am almost afraid to drive it until I take all the proper steps to protect it. I know I will be adding rock guards they helped my 1le ( just a little late) but any other things that help? Also front splitter protection anyone have any experience with splitter washers? Or I thought about having a 1/4 aluminum plate cut or water jetted as a skid plate I seen a couple but can't find a vendor, I thought I read they were discontinued. We're they a bad idea or causing problems? Thank you in advance for any help I am very very picky and want to keep my car in best shape for as long as possible!

Clear bra for the nose, rockers and gills. Some do the hood (all or front part). XPEL Ultimate or Suntek is your best bet

Splitter guards work for underneath. Good driving is what you'll need to not smack the front into the curb. It's cheap to replace if you need to, but I think the nose needs to come off, which seems to be a reasonably easy job.

Clear Bra for the front facia, the mirrors, and the gill area. Best $900 I ever spent.

XPEL Ultimate! Cover as much as you can. Also get some front splash guards.

OK I have to say it. First step, hide the keys from the wife.

Protective film is the way to go. I have all of the usual areas that get beat to death by road debris covered with protective film. As an additional benefit dead bugs wipe right off.

Protective film at the bumper and gills. Waxing is excellent for the paint, but its no match for rocks, so you will need some type of protective film to keep the car free from excessive rock chips. Unfortunately the ZL is a magnet for them.

I have clear bra on mine. Works great. Key areas are the gills and nose/front of hood and the mirrors.

Haha I agree this would be the best thing I could do for it, but I showed her how to drive a manual a couple days after we bought the 1le and now she thinks she is chevrolet's track professional!

Well now you done it. Your either going to have to mod it so it is super crazy, or become so OCD about the paint and condition that she wants nothing to do with it at all.......good luck.

On the other hand my wife has driven mine once and she had the biggest smile, and I had an interesting perspective for the other seat.

Anyone just purchasing a brand new vehicle should install XPel first thing! I install on all the usual areas and do not have a single chip yet on any of my three cars & truck! I better nock on wood now! Congrats on your new car!
