I think what was meant here, is that the Z/28 Base Price was more expensive than the ZL1 1LE and to retain the creature comforts caused it to be increasingly more expensive. So, in essence, the Z/28 buyers got screwed because this generations Xtreme track variant is better AND less expensive than it's predecessor.

They may have got screwed price wise unless they picked it up with the discount. I think that will be a special car in the future especially if they don't make a 6th Gen.

I bet their asses are chapped...
No. It's called progress. Imagine if a gen 4 LS1 was the fastest Camaro still. I expect new cars to beat old cars. I'm happy.

As an owner of both, think the Z/28 is slower for the fact that it is 145Hp less then the ZL1LE, and cost more as it came with Carbon ceramic brakes that's a $6K+ hit.

To date i like the fell of the Z/28 brakes better then the ZL1LE, they both work well, the Z/28 has more of a bite when you step on the pedal, i know there good brakes on the new car,(we have tested them) .

As a long time, rural Western US resident....watching him speed through DEER country like that....I was expecting one to run onto the road at any minute. LOL.

WHAT a car! Especially liked the track sequence at Laguna Seca.

Damn...the Camaro looks as good going down the road as it does from the drivers seat. To bad Chevy can't make all there cars with attitude. They would sell a ton of them priced right.

Wow. The ZL1 1LE is an absolutely monster of a car.

I see crunch527 confirmed this is what he meant - but I don't know a single Z/28 Owner who feels they got screwed - sure if they bought early they paid up, but if they bought later they got a bargain, with many new ones selling in low to mid $50k range - so a lot less than 1LE.

I did not buy the Z for creature comforts, I bought it for what it is a track car. I would love to see the Z set up on the 1 LE (no creature comforts, lightweight glass, ceramic brakes, less sound deadening, nothing in the trunk etc.) and have it be 100 or even 200 pounds lighter. That would make it an even better track car! But I would get AC!

Regardless of price those like 2SSRS@Gen5diy who have both, love both. If the 1LE prices fall like the Z, I will have both. Both great cars - Z will always be a limited production (just 1,802 built) LS7 track tuned Camaro and for those of us who have them and have driven them know they are a very special car, even if not as fast as the 1LE which is a monster!

Thats good to hear...glad folks don't feel slighted by GMs approach with the Zl1 1LE.

Does anyone know what color the one Randy took around Laguna Seca was? I don't know if it's my monitor or what, but it looks much more orange to me than any other picture of Red Hot that I've seen.
