What are the warranty implications of using a ported throttlebody? I wouldn't think it would be a big deal since a CAI won't void your engine warranty. You never know though.

Basically the same as anything else; in order to be denied warranty coverage, the problem has to be a direct result of the modification. You should not have any issues and honestly, a tech would be pretty hard pressed to even notice it had been modified as it retains a stock appearance on the outside.

question would it be worth while to change out the factory isolator coupler with a solid one before it goes bad and saving the head ache of a blow change ?

I'd say so. It would be a good time to do an upper pulley at the same time, but would also require a tune.

Tyler, thanks for info. just got my 13' 2 weeks ago and only have 300 miles on it. i'm in favor of tune but will wait a little while to get more miles on it. thanks again Ken

A friend of mine just told me a story about a bone stock ZL1 that dropped a valve at 7k miles. I usually only wait a few thousand to start modding. I may be waiting longer now.

Yeah, generally my rule of thumb is if something is going to happen, it's usually within the first 10K miles. After that; you're usually in the clear.
