How much will great deals on new vettes effect sales of new Camaro

As the title states how much will Camaro sales be effected due too deals on the 09 Vettes ? To be honest the Camaro I wanted has a MSRP at approx37,500 ish. I can get a 09 base model Vette with Z51 package for 39k. I know the Camaro has back seats and is apparently more family friendly but ... well it's a Vette. This coming from someone that never considered purchasing a Vette before this year when I realized how cheap they were comparitively to the new Camaro. Or because the price gap has closed between the Camaro and vette with the new deals. Maybe GM will offer incentives on new Camaro's due to the economy ? Thoughts anyone ?

I dont want a bottom of the line Corvette, even if it is a vette. Besides, I am 24, I have years to get a vette, unless the tree huggers kill muscle cars. Also, how often do you get to order a car and have it made to your exact specifications.

More than a few here have canx their order due to deals on Vettes...so I'm sure we'll see a few more!

I'd love a Vette but I want a Z06...that's mad cash right there and even with the bad economy they are still more than I can spend!

i believe he meant that the camaro you want is YOUR exact specs if you order it, but your considering a BASE vette instead (not your exact specs, but what you can afford)

i could be wrong, but thats how i read it

If I wanted a vette I'd buy a vette. The price has no bearing on the decision. I want a Camaro.
I guess during the time up to delivery, the real Camaro people are sorted out from the people who don't necessarily want a Camaro, just a sports car.

Personally I don't like Corvettes, and I don't see any advantage to owning a Vette instead of a Camaro anyway.

I fully expect to spank every one I come across. Never lost to any Vettes with my 2002 SS, and I don't plan to lose to any in my new Camaro either.

just my .02

Uh oh. This is what happens when it takes sooooo long to get the camaro in our hands. The troops are growing restless, very restless. I can sympathize with you. Some of the deals out here are great when you consider you are going to take the first year depreciation off the sticker! The wait is painful, and, we are getting bits and pieces of info that the camaro start up could be slower then WE had hoped for, as in we can change our orders up thru Januray now. We still don't know how long it is going to take to get our camaro's, but, the general feeling I get is, it is going to be later then 1Q before most of us see our cars. I just can't imagine the feeling of seeing a camaro and regretting not having one.

All it takes is one look at the picture above and it'll remind you why were all here.

A Vette is of course a Vette but just remember, no back seats and much higher insurance. I feel much better having a fully loaded awesome car than a base model awesome car.

Actually i got a quote for insurance in a used 07 vette lt3 that i may buy for 30k cash and with the vette added to my 04 dodge ram my monthly payment goes up by $38.00 with full coverage and full glass. 100/300
