How much to get a shop to install Camaro headers

Hey guys

Adding a Kook kit to my 2013 SS W99. How much would a decent shop charge to install it?

Check with the Houston "H Town" Camaro Club. I'm sure someone from the group would be willing to help and save you the cost of installing the headers.

Seriously....not hard at all plus satisfaction of doing it yourself....couple of jack stands and basic metric sockets....

Who is going to tune the car after? Headers will lean out your AFR and without a tune you will leave a lot of power on the table....hit dynoSteve up at RDP! peace out...

I agree with the group. Not a very difficult install at all. Save the money for the tune.

They overcharge so much. I called around different shops when I wanted to get mine installed and it was like $400-$600. I just manned up and did them myself. First time I tried I quit I was like I can do this and then the 2nd time I was able to finish the job.

I don't mean to this guy, but since the topic is on the table, I'm just a basic wrench turner with some tools. So it would be feasible for me to try this on my own and save some cash as opposed to taking it to my local shop?

YES!! This is easier to put on headers than a Silverado. Is by far the easiest car I've ever put headers on. 5hrs tops taking your sweet time. Just the dipstick tube and pulling the steering shaft apart is the only real hassle. Everything is unbolt and replace though.

It took me about an hour from start to finish to put mine in. Granted I've been an aircraft mechanic for a while, but even the siimplest of mechanics can do this job. As long as you know righty tighty lefty loosy you'll do just fine. Most headers will clear the steering shaft just fine and you won't even have to mess with that.

Oh so it would be fine to install them at home and then drive to my tuner? That's good news
