That's probably because they usually end up closed. I don't hate on someone that gets a V6 version of a camaro, mustang or challenger. I just don't understand why someone would want too. The thing is, that these threads always seem to be started by someone that you can tell wish they had the V8 but want folks on here to make them feel better about having the V6. The true V6 people on here don't care what anyone thinks, and they love their cars for what they are. These are the people that I respect. Just because I don't get it doesn't mean I don't respect someone that has a passion for something I'm not into. Many people don't like yellow cars and I do. Do I cry every time someone says they don't like my car because its yellow? No, of course not. I don't expect everyone to like what I do. What a boring world that would be. I say lighten up Francis. Enjoy the fact that mommy and daddy bought you a car even though it wasn't the one you really wanted. Maybe if you throw a big enough fit, they will cave and get you that V8. After all, isn't that how things work these days?

Well, you shouldn't ever worry about what other people think of your car, it's your car, not theirs...
Did you buy it to impress people? Or did you buy it Because that's what you truly want... If it's what you want then **** em. That being said... This is America. More is better, and Americans love their muscle cars, there's A ton of people out there that don't know hardly anything about any cars, but the know the difference between a v6 and a v8. |

How much horsepower do their cars have? Yours has 325HP a V8 Camaro had that much in 2002.
A V8 Mustang didn't have more than 315hp until 2011.

It's not even about horsepower. For most people, the only thing they know about camaros and other muscle cars is that there's a v6 and a v8. When they ask, why didn't you get a v8, they are just trying to sound knowledgeable

Enjoy what you have and screw the rest. I have been seeing many 2014 v6's in the past couple of weeks and they all look great. What the hell they are Camaros !

Goodels, congrats on the new car! I got my first Camaro last year when I was 29 years old. I have wanted one since I was in high school. I got the 2013 1LS and love it. Down the road I might get a V8, but for now cheaper was the best thing for me. Enjoy your car!!

I will add though that not many people outside of US and real car enthusiast know the difference after you say SS. 1LE??? Barely anyone knows what that is and if they have seen one has no idea what it is. ZL1??? To your basic person is another Camaro with a cool body kit hood and rims. And I have not been asked yet why I didnt get any model above my plane jane 2SS let alone a Corvette. If I ever did though, I would just tell them its on my "wish list" or that I will one day when I'm old enough to afford the insurance on something like a ZL1 or Vette (only 27).

In the meantime, I punch this little 6 like it owes me money. Seriously though, I merge and pass without issue. That was my main objective with the car. The fact it looks okay and handles well are just bonuses. I wanted something sporty, ~30mpg highway, and cheap. Not much else out there for $25k fulfills those requirements. |

To the OP: Didn't anybody warn you about starting a V6 vs V8 thread?.......
But since you did.....My question would be: Why all the V6 insecurity?...... Why would you even let someone else's negativity sink in?...... You are going be dealing with this same kind of crap all your life. If you let everything negative that's ever said to you sink in, it's going to be a long miserable life. If you like your car, what does it make any difference what anybody else says or thinks? Most of the time they are just trying to get a rise out of you anyway and if you give it to them, then they know that they're getting to you and they will just lay it on thicker. And it works exactly the same way on these boards. I've driven a V6 and found it to be impressive.... But, I have a V8 and it's even more impressive....I love it....I Wouldn't have it any other way. And just because I said that, it doesn't take anything away from the V6. Just learn to have a thick skin and let negativity be like water on a duck. You'll live a happier life. End of today's sermon.
