Should I buy another 1LE?

3 years ago I totaled my black 2013 1LE. I’m just about to jump back into another car and have been debating buying another 1LE or a c5 z06. Just looking for some insight from somebody who owns both or went from one to the other.

If your primary use is AutoX and the road course, I would go with the C5 Z06. The Corvette is not as comfortable though.

How important is the interior to you? I still like the exterior of C5s, but the interiors are a little too dated for me.

Interior isn’t to important. C5 would get double din and Recaros.

Good Bye Camaro5

Sold my 2010 Camaro today to an individual from Norway, it was hard to let go but I had to move on. Enjoyed the ride for almost eight years, now it time to look for my dream car (69 Camaro). Take care guys & gals.

I have had a C5 Vette, non-Z06 but have driven several Z06's, with Z51 and loved that car. Still wish I had it. I would not trade my 1LE for a C5 Z06, but if I was starting from scratch I would buy the C5 Z06 over a 1LE. I know that probably doesn't make much sense but that's just my two cents worth.

The seats and overall interior in a C5 are downright awful, if primary use is auto-x/track then it's a sacrifice I'd be willing to make but if it's a daily driver or even just a weekend fun car I couldn't overlook the C5's interior. I'm personally coming from a 2010 C6 GS Vette and the interior on my 15' is a step up from that.

You might want to check out the prices of a 2018 GS at Kerbeck Corvette . IMHO that is the sweet spot for the money . $57000.00 will buy you a new base GS , and that is a whole lot of a car for the money .

For nearly the price of a 1LE, why don't you look into a C6 Z06. I've had a C5 and a C6 Z06, and it was night and day. You'd get the LS7, and a slightly better interior. By this time, I'm sure prices for early year C6 Z06's are down in the low $30's.

Sadly the C6 ZO6's with low miles with warranty left in nice condition are still holding well above $36000.00 ( for a 2009 ZO6 and up ) from what I have seen here in Arizona . There is no doubt they ( C6 ZO6) are nice cars , but a fresh 2018 GS is a far better car all around and will have a warranty . If the NA LS7 is your cup of tea then that's the way to go . However over all a 2018 GS is a far better car IMHO. "Happiness is only a payment away ".

The C5 Z06 and the 1LE are very close when it comes to price. It looks like the Z06 has depreciated its full amount, the 1LE has some room left.

Looks are subjective and so is the utility of each, I would think the price to maintain or modify the cars is about the same, price for camshafts, headers, tires etc.

I owned a C5 for 11 years and am now in Camaros. Although the Camaro sits a little higher and is heavier, it feels more solid, easier to get in and out of, don't have to keep an eye out for dead raccoons on the freeway and I swear it can out handle the Corvette stock against stock.

Owning a C5 Z06 is a great car to start with as its engine is not fragile like the C6 Z06 and you have room left to improve the LS6.

Whatever you choose, get one with low miles and has had a good owner.

a '14 or '15 1LE RS with Recaros would be my choice (if it were me). The c5 vette might be quicker but it is older as well.

I would agree that for most owners, the LS3 powered GS Vette is an overall better choice from a cost perspective. I love the stoutness of the LS3 in my Camaro. I do not agree that the LS7 should be characterized as a "fragile" motor by any means. Having owned, and beat the hell, out of a stock and modified LS7, I can tell you it's a great motor. I'm sure there are many, many Z28 owners on here that will agree. What I feared as a LS7 owner was only the cost of having to rebuild or replace the LS7 over what it would cost me to do the same with a LS3, hence part of the reason I'm a SS Camaro owner now....
