1le Front Splitter

Hi All,

I've been a lurker in the forum for a long time but this is my first post.

This is my 3rd year of owning a Black 2014 2SS RS 1le with Recaros, and it has been amazing!

I want to thank everyone who contributes to the forum, I've found tons of great information and tips on here!

I hate to be "That guy" whose first post is asking for help, but I'm I guess I am... so here it goes...

I recently took my car to the local dealer for communication interface module reprogramming (to correct a battery drain issue) and noticed a small scuff on the lower lip of front splitter. When I looked closer it also appears that the upper and lower pieces are no longer flush and some of the mounting tabs now appear visible. I could swear they fit better than this is the past but now I can't tell if my mind is playing tricks on me.

Any chance someone could either:
Post a link to good close up of the factory front splitter (I can't seem to find a good angle)

Let me know if my photo looks normal to you?

Post a similar angle of their front splitter

Thanks!!

and to add, you do have gaps that should not be there (the lip should be flush up against the bumper as the others pics have shown too.)

i'd find a trusted body shop in your area and have them correct / re-mount if necessary, it's possible some of the mounting hardware has failed.

nice car too btw, Recaros are becoming unicron finds! i love mine

Thanks Silveradoss573 and608RS!

I appreciate you taking the time to respond & post!

Yeah, one of my seat covers is showing some wear. I priced replacements and suddenly the wear didn't seem that bad LOL

np, happy to help. I can't see any body shop needing more than MAX 1hr to remove and remount (and replace any mounting hardware). come to think of it, you may want to avoid higher speeds in case the wind takes a whirl at the lip and pulls it off. these lips are like $600+new currently, so i'd be careful until you get it fixed.

best of luck

I had a body shop that's worked on the car before take a look at it and they agreed it should fit flush but said there really wasn't much way to adjust it.
The splitter has been off in the past for a mild fender bender so that may have something to do with it.

On the plus side, they said nothing was loose and I shouldn't have any problems driving it.

608RS You're right they're crazy expensive, but beyond that I don't seem in stock anywhere (PN 22997432).

Does anybody know if these are even still available?

Thanks!

There are several rivets and breakaway bolts/nuts on the underside of these. I would crawl under and truly ensure everything is there. Here’s a picture of the breakdown for a 2013; I’d imagine the 14/15 are similar. For instance, there are 25 #2’s and eight #9’s required; in the second picture for the rubber deflector, there are 15 each required of number 16 & 22... Mine was missing some various bits when I bought it. I replaced everything and it did tighten up.

Scotty D,
That's what I was thinking!

I saw they were discontinued I was hoping to pick up an NOS part just in case I hit a parking curb or something.
