half mile wheel setup

hows it going, I'm looking at doing half mile and full mile events with my zl1. what size wheels would be best to use for these events? I was thinking maybe a 19" or 18" rear

I've been running the Hoosier R7s 315/40ZR19 at the Texas Mile. It's the tire of choice for guys trying to run over 200mph. Hell, the M2K GT ran 300.4mph on them in March

You need to check the rules and regulations for the event you're planning to run. They may not approve the R7s. Good luck, have fun and be safe

I would be surprised if they didn't allow the R7s. Any street tire with a speed rating that your car can run should be permitted. We run on an active runway and traction is limited. Here is a youtube of my best pass in March that my son posted. Sorry, you will have to Goggle it. Aw5hs4iVzj8
How much power is your car making?
