Exactly. Not a fan of that stuff at all.

Just wish they weren't fake.

Not the same texture when you bite it.

Not the same at all, sorry.

Been there, done that.

There is no way to give an honest answer to that question without testing it back-to-back on the car, but, at 800rwhp it would be significant.

If you dropping a new engine in, that would be the easiest time to do it.

Question, years ago I went with Thorley tri-y headers for my 10 Camaro. Great gains and look great. The issue I have found is the drive train sound as power has increased.

Is there a header that minimizes the drive train sound? If I was to replace these, which would be best? Would Kooks stepped headers make better power and minimize drive train noise?

Which is best PFADT tri-y or kooks stepped?

Are you referring to the valvetrain sounds? That is just part of the game. The heavy stock cast manifolds keep all that sound inside but thin wall tubing just can't. Going to another brand won't change that.

Pfadt Tri-Y will make more mid-range power and Kooks stepped will make more power at the high end of the RPM range. If you are building a max effort or dedicated race car then the stepped are probably the way to go. Otherwise, peak power is meaningless because you spend almost zero time at peak RPM and full throttle. However, you spend a lot of time in the middle of the RPM range where Tri-Y headers really shine.

Just a heads up, if your considering Kooks stepped up headers..., be patient. The turn time is about 3 months.
