Funny, I helped design and sell machines (happened to be driveshaft equipment) long ago and that ‘machine grey’ was a popular color among industrial equipment in the 70’s and 80’s. Later on, we went with reds and blues. Now cars are those old, battleship gray colors. For the most part I like it but it takes me back to another time when it was a machine, not a car, that was that color. Pretty cool tho.

Its funny I wasn't sure I liked the early pics as it looked a bit too battleship like for me in colour. But seeing the car finished um yeah that looks sweet!

Ya before we put all the black accents I was worried it was gonna be a little dull. Then when we threw on the black and carbon, I was like okay wow this thing came out perfect.

What's a fair cost to do this?
|

So to be honest this is a pretty expensive job. Because it’s a color change, you need to take off all the plastic pieces (fog light bezels, rear diffuser, grill, etc.) to be able to paint everything and not miss a spot. Also you need to do the jams as well, which means all the door panels need to come off as well. And then removing of bumpers, spoilers etc.
Also, this color is a water base color only. You cannot spray this specific color solvent. And, water base is the most expensive way to paint a car. With that being said, something like this would start about 5-6k and depending on if you wanna spray your plastic pieces, install new parts, etc. it can go up to like 8k.
