I don’t know if this was a good idea

I let my wife take out the zl1 to the grocery store. Not sure if it’s a good idea. I don’t want her getting used to it. She’s never driven anything with this much power. Do you guys let your significant other take out your car?
Happy 4th also.
Jeff

My wife drove mine once around a airport field and never again it scares her and she hates the visibility. I find the visibility fine now

Don't know your wife's skill level behind the wheel but it takes some practice to keep the front spoiler from scraping. One false step around a curb and you can have a real mess with the spoiler or trying to match a wheel that gets damaged. My wife is 4'9 and wouldn't stand a prayer of even getting out of the garage, much less to the grocery store or back. She pitched a fit when I told her to get her feet off the dash of my Vette after we were first married about 20 years ago. Said she would never ride in it again. Sold the Vette but she hasn't ridden in any of my cars more than once or twice around the block in twenty years. We take her car (paid for by me) anytime we travel. Some folks just don't have the proper respect for vehicles or the money and time involved in their ownership.

That’s the first thing i told her. The front end sticks out way more than you can see. Don’t curb it.

And I have a manual transmission with an LS7 clutch and a reinforced return spring.

....clutch pedal is a hard as in old truck.

My wife has driven mine a few times but never alone. One time she downshifted way too early and the engine screamed and she damn near soiled herself. She panicked and instead of upshifting, she put on the wipers. That concluded her interest in driving the car again…

I would let my wife drive mine because I know she won't try to go to fast. She doesn't want to tho.

I don’t think she ever went over 4000 rpms. She’s scared to go to fast.

My bride will not drive mine at all. She knows how anal I am about it and she prefers to just let me have the wheel. She hates the car anyway and she will not even ride in it with me which is ok but sometimes I tell her I want to go out and eat but we are taking the camaro then she will go!

With all the nannies turned on and a light right foot it should be pretty docile.

I take my G8 to the grocery store it has a bigger trunk

Besides stray shopping carts seem to be all over the place because people are lazy

we do the instacart app so she just has to drive up and they bring the groceries out to you. she said she got a lot of looks and thumbs up, waiting in line. the car shakes and rumbles pretty good with the cam it.
