I am satisfied with how it runs now actually, Once you travel down that rabbit hole there is no turning back been there and done that with my 1968 rally-sport back in the day. When it was finished it had all the goodies and was barely streetable and only got about 10 miles to the gallon. My 2014 gets great gas milege is dependable and I can drive it anywhere vacations etc. to each his own brother.....

I just went with factory reproductions ZL1 black rims and tire package on 2010 SS with 275 up front and 305 on rear. The grab and look is great so far.

I got the Factory Reproductions in chrome. Very satisfied. I've had people tell me they can see the shine from down the road. Each time I drive the car I get compliments and people take pics of it. Of course this only happens in the warmer months as the colder months get the factory rims back on.

I was thinking the same thing. What are they made of if they're not aluminum?

I’m assuming some mild steel? Probably from the World Trade Center. Clearly heavier than the SS OE’s.

The MRR 228s are made of aluminum.

Just because they're heavier than OEM, doesn't mean they aren't also made of aluminum. They're likely just a different aluminum alloy, made up of different metals mixed with the aluminum.

I run a set of factory reproductions FR27 Z28 style wheels in the winter on my 1LE. I'm definitely happy with them, and they were on special pricing when I got them so I paid less than half what the MRRs cost.
I get more comments on these than on the OEM 1LE wheels... Probably because they're shinier. I can't really compare the MRRs to these, but the factory reproductions wheels are slightly heavier than my OEM 1LE wheels. My fiance's OEM 19" mustang wheels are even heavier though. These are a square setup 20 x 10 all around. I took these pictures at the request of another forum member to show the fitment in the rear. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk
