Back-ordered Michelin Pilot Super Sports

I ordered Michelin pilot super sports 8 weeks ago and still no word on availability. Is there anyone else waiting?

I was in the market for a set ever since i bought my Z/28in January... None ever became available. I had 5 separate tire shops call Michelin directly to inquire about build date, who responded by saying "At this time we have no slated production slots for that size in the super sport."

I gave up... Almost pulled the trigger on a set of Sport Cup 2s, as my dad runs them on his car. Decided they weren't worth the $3,200 CDN.

Try Pilot Sport PS2s. 30k km warranty (18,000 miles), a touch more agressive than the Super Sport, but terrific ride comfort and maneurisms. I drove my Z 1000 miles immediately after installing them (no joke, it was 1,900 kms) and they were a dream.

They keep bumping up the availability for the super sports, so i really wouldn't hold your breath...

Been on back order for almost 3.5 months for me. Still waiting. I'm waiting till I completely hit my treadwears. If they don't show by then I'll have to grab a set of goodyears again I think.

Stupid that Michelin wouldn't have summer tires available in the summer. Who runs a business like that ?

A few months ago I was told it was 6-9 month back order. I wound up going in another direction. What are you going to do if you to replace one of them?

Bridgestone RE11 & Michelin PS2 seem like good choices. Have you guys checked ebay for the Pilot Super Sports?

If I don't hear from Discount Tire within about two weeks (not holding my breath), I am going to pull the trigger on some Toyo Proxes 1's.

Had a guy call Michelin directly and they are supposed to go back into production the last part of July.

Yeah, I know. I just don't need new ones, quite yet. And I'm cheap.

Happened to me, nail in the side wall. Had to put a Toyo on. It was the closest to the size. Sucks.
