Installed twin turbo and now reverse on m6 is locked out?
Hey guys,
Over the weekend finished my agp install. Never touched any of the trans stuff. For some reason, whenever I put the car into reverse, it is as if the reverse lockout solenoid is preventing me from putting it into reverse. Any ideas what might have happened or what might have caused it? It hasn't worked since initial startup, worked perfect before I installed the kit, wondering what I might've bumped? I did check the connectors on the trans all seem to be connected properly. I also cannot control the solenoid with my scanner. I have a hard time believing I have a bad solenoid being that the car only has 2000 miles. Any help is great. Thanks guys |

Will it even go into reverse with the engine off? Any codes with your scanner?

Will not go in with engine off. Had a reverse solenoid code, that stayed off when I cleared them, still has a skip shift code. Car has not been tuned yet.

Should be able to actuate the solenoid, that and the code kinda points to bad solenoid. Is it possible that you have a speed sensor unplugged? May be locking you out because it things its moving?

Thats kinda what I thought as well, but with the skip shift code being on too it made me wonder if that might be contributing to it. Thanks for the tips I'll take a look at my speed sensors, maybe I knocked it off on accident or something.

I was gonna give that a try also, I'm waiting for the car to get back from my tuner, seeing if he can figure it out first. Just seeing if anyone else had any insight or had this problem.

Only time I have seen this issue was on my own car. When I plugged the solenoid back in one of the pins inside the connector bent so it wasn't getting a connection. Popped connector off, bent pin back, and all good. Get under the car and check the solenoid and plug/connector and wiring to it. Not much to that system, so should be easy to figure out.

On my 2000 SS the solenoids for skip shift and the reverse lockout were swapped, same connectors.

TT's create wormholes. No need for reverse.
