Draining Gas
Looking for input on best methods to drain as much gas out of a 5th gen as possible. My 2SS has gone too many years with too little miles, and I have been just adding fresh gas to alot of old Ethanol Blended Gas which the Whipple and Injectors do not like.
I understand there are various ways to do it, and have used the method to remove the Gas Tank rubber Fill pipe, but it still leaves a good amount of gas in the tank as it is limited to how well the siphon hose reaches the into the tank. So I will start with that method to get the bulk of it out. But looking for specifics and how to get the rest of it out. Options are: 1. Connect a hose to the Fuel Rail Schrader Valve and trigger the fuel pump on. How is that done? Via the Relay (where is it?), or with HP Tuners (I have that but how to configure it?). 2. Or just pull the back seat out and remove the Fuel Pump (I have a access door), and stick a hose in there. This will work, but is much more messy, and a PIA, and could be dangerous. Appreciate input from someone who has actually done the first option. |

With the tank design it hard to get it all out. There is a product that the fuel companies use in their fuel storage tanks that are hundreds of thousands of gallons + and sits for who knows long. Its called PRI-G it restores stale fuel and keeps fuel fresh for 5 years. Might be allot easier than trying to drain. I have been using it in all my equipment that sits with excellent results.
