Terrible Camaro wreck :(
This is just awful. I am sick to my stomach. The worst thing of all is that no one was wearing a seatbelt & small children were not in a car seats. Who this day and age transports small children with no carseat? Please tell me how you are responsible for transporting a team of young basketball players & do not make them buckle up? What is wrong with people? It does not sound like the Camaro driver was at fault from initial reports but the driver also was not wearing a seatbelt. So far no reports of any deaths which is a miracle & a blessing. I went through our club member list and based on the pics eleminated it as being any of our mambers who has pics posted. I sure hope it was not one of our club members or a C5 comrad but hate it for everyone involved regardless. I hope everyone fully recovers and that some lessons were learned.

Not putting on my seat belt feels unnatural to me.

My daughter would always tell me to put on my seat belt when she was in the car with me and now I do it without thought. So what kind of moron would put a child in a car and not seat belt them in.

OMG with that many kids in the van and no seat belts on. What were they thinking!
And did I hear right that the Camaro driver wasn't wearing their seat belt either. REALLY!!!!!! Airbags are only part of the safety equation.

the children should have had a seat belt on, but I believe that as an adult it should be your choice, and the camaro looked like it stood up well to that mini van, hope everyone is alright

I have a great employee at my office who has a relative in her 5th year in prison for causing an accident like this & killing multiple people. Slow down & wear seat belts!
In the 80's I was thrown from the passenger side of a Corvette during an accident. Paramedics were amazed that I walked away from it (albeit a bit sore & beat up) and I'm taking any more chances. |

I am only alive today because I was wearing my seatbelt in a terrible accident. The first thing the paramedic said to me was "Good girl, you are alive because you were wearing your seatbelt". There is no excuse for anyone not wearing a seatbelt and it is criminal to have 2 kids under 2yo without a carseat & children not wearing seatbelts, I don't care what anyone says. They are all lucky to be alive.

I have to admit when I go just down the street to pick up what ver at the convienence store I don't put on the seat belt but any farther than that and it goes on. always feel like I am "locked in" and ready for some spirited driving when I am buckled up.

in todays age I cannot fathom why you wouldn't wear seat belts and even worse why you wouldn't have little kids in child seats and secure, hope everyone recovers and they need to cite for no child restraints

There are no excuses for anyone especially for adults not placing kids in seat belts let alone not wearing them themselves !

Yeah, no seatbelts, that is the root cause.
Nice kneejerk reaction to it all. In the end, everyone survived and they will be more careful next time... Love the bleached blonde "reporter", too dumb for porn. |
