lol, looks like the cons outweigh the pros by a lot. I'll just play on the server my friends play on. they haven't had any issues so far.
Thanks guys.

So...after posting on here and talking to my wife(and her telling me I don't need a new computer)...went home and started playing SC2, and all the sudden "POP" and no power...my computer will no longer come on. More than likely a power supply issue but I am going to try and work my way into getting a newer model, not quite as elaborate as OP though.

Did you get the one with active venting with motorized vents on the top controlled by a desktop program? I don't want an alienware computer, but I do want this case

I enjoy to build my own. I am anal about wires and how things are ran I need to do it myself. You can't find a wire out of place in my case. No SLI Yet just waiting for the Ferni 470 to come down a little in price. Running it on Air as well.

How's the Corsair SSD doing? I tend to stay away from them atm, and chose Intel as my SSD of choice. I game regularly with several of the engineers at Intel's Folsom, CA campus. Looks good!

Congrats on the purchase. Sorry that you overpaid for something you could have built yourself. =)
At least you don't have to worry about tech support. Enjoy! |

All my Adobe stuff is on the SSD, as well as a few games, and the load times are pretty darn fast. I believe SSD is the way to go these days for a C: drive, because Windows 7 just rocks with fast access to the drive. Oh, and I've worked with a couple of companies that are using SSD's in a RAID 5 configuration to run large SQL databases, and...well...it's pretty sick as far as speed goes

I've built a few of my PC's using Newegg. I tend to use the hardware that Falcon-NW uses because it's generally been tested out by them pretty well, then order the parts and build it myself.
I've probably built about 6 PC's of my own over the years (and numerous ones for various jobs I've had). I have, when times have been good financially, bought 3 Falcon Northwest computers though as well. My wiring harnesses look no where near as clean as Falcon's...but the computers tend to run just as well, though over the years it's seemed like the PC's I've built have run into more hardware weirdness than the one's that were built by Falcon. Still, building your own PC is always the best way to get the most bang out of the buck. I wouldn't take back my purchases of the Falcon's though...they have been sweet machines.

Be pretty nice to be gaming on a 55" plasma tv though. Be like you are actually in the wall. BTW CoD sucks for PC. Its all people hosting servers on their computer so there is going to be massive lag. I think they supposed to change that in the next one that comes out at the end of the year. |
