well the guys at the dealer say they can't balance them unless they do clip on weights on the outside. i showed them where to put the stick on weights and they said they couldn't get them to stick so i guess i have to take them somewhere else to get balanced

I have 17" Race Stars and have stick on weights inside that clear.. I go to my local Firestone and have lifetime alignments which is great since I do so many progressive suspension upgrades... where did you take it for the balancing? Local dealer? Perhaps try an alignment shop that specializes in alignment and balancing..

Yeah definitely you need to go to a direct tire place/wheel alignment type place. The dealer is no place for anything but warranty work if you get lucky enough on that. I totally agree with Chris. I have painted Racestars and as I posted prior they are stuck on weights done only on the inside edge of the wheel tub as I believe they call it a static balance. Worked on mine no issues.

i work at a chevy dealer and they've done well for me so far. I'm sure one of the mechanics could do it right but they gave it to a lube tech and he couldn't figure it out. pretty sure he didn't clean the wheel well is why he couldn't get them to stick. lol

well i got up early and went to discount. they looked at the wheels and tires and talked about it for 30 minutes. they finally said they weren't safe for that car and couldn't touch them. i had to go to work. my kid is supposed to take it to a local shop later today that should be able to get it done. fingers crossed. lol

Weird, the discount tire stores around here are pretty cool. When I had tires installed on my son's Camaro a couple weeks ago they asked me to do a burn-out in the parking lot.

Lol. Me too! Just got my alignment done so it’s set to drag spec alignment and as soon as they finished I pulled the car off the rack and several people all came out of the wood work asking for me to do a burn out. I triggered the line lock and lit that place up. Looked like the building was on fire ...

What spec were you shooting for, for the rear, and what did they end up with, for your alignment?

It was a noticeable difference. I did all my suspension upgrades more or less all at once, but didn't get it aligned for a few days afterward, and as soon as it was all dialed in, it felt even more solid and sure of itself off the line.

Do you have the hub centric ring (little plastic circle) . Mine didn't come with them, and used to shake like hell as well. Called race star and they sent me some . shake gone. Im wanting to find a socket thin enough to use to take them on and off without scraping the $@!# out of them
