Haha that's awesome. I never even thought about using washers!

Very nice squat stt816, especially for your BW. You're not far off from my squat max and I'm at around 225. Again, very impressive. As far as bench - several things that helped really strengthen my bench press, aside from various chest exercises, was having a very strong shoulder press (be it DB or BB) and seated tricep DB extensions.

Dragging this mofo up from Page 2.

I had a little hip scoping done back in September, and I've pretty much gotten my pull back. Now I'm working towards getting up over 600 before the other hip needs a cleaning.

How is everyone doing?

It's been a very hard road for me lately......

On March 31st I went to MS to see my granny and celebrate her 100th birthday which was on April 1st. I knew I wouldn't be long but I said my goodbye to her on the 2nd and headed back to TN. Well on Weds the 5th she passed away. So I am suppose to be a pallbearer at her funeral service on April 8th. I plan on going up on Friday the 7th.

It's Thursday and I am getting things ready and Zack my stepson calls and tells me Tracie (my ex wife) doesn't have long. She has been battling cancer. Even in divorce we are still friends....best friends really. She woke up about 5 years ago and said that I was a great father and a great husband but she didn't want to be married anymore....it sucked but eventually I got over it and was blessed to have Monique come into my life.

It started in her breast, spread to her pancreas, then her lungs, and most recently her brain. So I head to Atlanta instead on Friday. I get there and it seems her spirits pick up. She's talking, coherent, drinking but not eating.

So Saturday comes around. She's ok but getting worse....her lungs are shutting down. She takes a nap from about 4-5:30 and wakes up in pain. The next 2 hours are really rough.

Having someone you love sit there and plead for help, wanting to fight, wanting to live and you being powerless to help except to tell her the doctor is coming is just, well I can't even put it into words.

About 7:30 she grabs me, pulls me to her, looks at me and says "I'm sorry and I love you" and hugs me. 7:45 she looks outside her windows of the room and says "it's a beautiful day". At 7:58 she took her last breath.

Was the worst week of my life and Saturday, April 8th was easily the single worst day of my life. When I posted above asking DZNTS how he was doing I was drunk trying to numb the pain.

Brother, we feel for you. I had a similar experience when my grandmother passed away from cancer. I was so glad I was there, a memory that will never be forgotten. Thanks for sharing that with us. We need to stop and realize some of the most important parts of life, and what they mean to us and how they effect us. Sorry for your loss.

Wow, very moving moments from a great man, Mydivorcegift.

I'm going to try and lighten the mood a little with some lifts from one of my trainees in a powerlifting event this past weekend.

He weighted in at 230.8 pounds... easily under the 231 limit...lol.

Best lifts: Squat 625 lbs, bench 365 lbs, deadlift... my boys best and most powerful lift, new PR for him at 675 lbs. When you say crushing it at 230 lbs, he was doing it. No one even close to him in that weight class, like a few hundred pounds away.

Talk about a proud trainer and trainee.. whoooa! We will be lifting tonight, but I imagine it will be a lot of reviewing of the lifts, as we deload a couple of weeks to get his CNS back on track.

Oh, and his girlfriend I also train, took first in her weight class, and placed third overall for percentage of weight/lifts for the whole event. She also hit a new PR on the deadlift at 320 lbs (her weight 180 lbs). And if I hear her say one more time "I can't lift that, it's too much", I will smack the lips right off of her...lol.

I finally benched 315 2x yesterday! Keep in mind I'm 5'9 177 lbs and my bf% is a bit high as I'm on a bulking cycle now. I'm at 12.8 % but usually am in single digits. Hitting abs later today
