You listening Motive???? 5th Gen guys want 4.33's. Well, I'd really like a 4.56, but 4.33 would be a step in the right direction!

From what I have read, Richmond made 4.33 gears but stopped selling them cause they were not strong enough. You are limited on geometry with a small 8.6 diamter ring gear.

Yea, I completely understand why they don't exist - just wish we had a bigger housing and some better options.

I don't get it.... you'd think with all the technology these days they could make them out of a better material, maybe polished??? Something to make them last...

Could - yes, but I would imagine that supply and demand has dictated the scope of what they are willing to do.

I have limited confidence in Richmond gears. I pulled a few teeth off a 4.10 Richmond earlier this year while not hitting it all that hard at all. See this thread for more details.

I did a lot of research after that failure and concluded Motive gears have been doing work in several of the real fast NA/M6 cars and holding up well. They've been good to me so far, they've even survived a total loss of pinion preload and a few hundred mile drive home in that condition. They aren't quiet anymore, but that's not their fault, and after correcting the issue they are still in (noisy) service and have held a good amount of launching on drag radials this season.

I'll have a new set going in with a trutrac this spring, and hopefully I'll finally be done fooling with the rear end.

My advice - if you wanna skip a lot of annoyance and money down the drain, just do an S60 or Hammerhead upgrade now and call it done.
