Chevrolet has pulled off a near-masterstroke.

The new Camaro excels by almost every objective and subjective measure: design, power, handling, efficiency, comfort, convenience, safety, and, perhaps most important of all, accessibility to the Camaro faithful.

Sure, it would've been news enough if Chevy had simply built an A-plus Camaro, but that would've mattered little if it'd been priced out of the reach of us paycheck-by-paycheck mortals.

The headline news: The new, fifth-generation Camaro delivers on all fronts. Base price for the V-6 edition is just $22,995 -- and that car is by no means a rental-fleet special.

A nicely outfitted, fire-breathing, V-8-powered Camaro SS can be yours for around $35K.

Go ahead, cry some more joyful tears.

V6ers can hold their heads up high, sub 6 second 0-60, stopping distances on par to the brembo SS's

I'm loving this...God, it has been such a long road.

I'm just happy we're finally getting there.

I think this is definitely a day for celebration, long anticipated.

Well this makes me feel better than the Edmunds editors, but sadly they didn't give any info on the interior, where Edmunds criticized the poor materials and bad ergonomics.

hey guys I just read the review:
the V6 =
The V8 =

Though I it seems 13.0 flat at about 111 mph is the norm. Hmm it seem the 3.45 gears combined with 28.7" tall tires, makes the camaro soft off the line. I am happy, this shows with bolt ons one might be able to get low 12's without sacrificing fuel economy. But the Camaro needs 3.73 gears ASAP.

Did anyone else noticed that they named the engines wrong? They say the Auto gets the LS3 and the Manual gets the L99. Last I heard, it was the other way around.

Very true! I for one would not be ashamed to own one with a V6 in it!

Keep in mind tho, the brembos are not just for stopping in short distance, but if they were to drive the V6 and the SS on a roadcourse track where you would use the brakes a lot in cornering, the brakes would fade and fall on their face fast compared to the Brembo's.. which is really the main purpose of the better brakes.

Anyways, I am very impressed with the V6.. I think with a great driver, in good conditions we should be seeing them running near the 14.0-14.2 area!

And for the SS.. with it's MPH in the 1/4.. we should be seeing 12.7-12.9 second runs pretty easily out of them as well!

Edmunds also bent over backwards to write it in the most criticizing way possible - this article made me feel much better.

I put this together from the Motor Trend tests of the Camaro, Mustang and Challenger. I am so glad I ordered a Camaro V8, but in class the Camaro v6 is awsome! Any comments?

I just checked the Camaro ordering guide and it states that the "Tremec" Manual Transmition is standard with the 6.2 L V8 (LS3) Engine.
