GM keeping good numbers?

Well as some of you know GM isnt the best at recording how much they build of something. Just look at the Pontiac Firebird numbers. For example I know my car is one of 1302 Formulas for 2000. That is it. Cant break it down by color, transmission or any options. Only ONE year of the last gen is available to be broke down and they didnt even do it by colors for the most part.

A lot of other cars are the same way.

So, is GM going to keep better records so you can actually tell how many cars of your EXACT build were built?

What info? Production numbers for 99-01 Pontiac Firebirds? Yea, just the number of models were made. That is it. If you have more info, share it.

All I asked was if anybody knows if GM is keeping better records this time around. Im not asking for build numbers for my 4th gen. Never did.

I come across them everyonce in a while. Like I know our 2002 hawk is like one of ten if even that with NBM an auto and a tan top and tan interior. GM keeps great records just ask scott he has access to all of them. Like I said you just have to find them.

Like I said, try finding 99-01 Firebird numbers like that. You cant. 02 is the ONLY year where a full break down is available like that. Plus, you have a "special" car as well. SLP kept far better records than GM and that is how you know your breakdown as well.

Example of the 2000 breakdown:
Quote:
2000 total: 31826
Firebird 13529 coupe; 1149 vert; 14678 total
Formula 1302 coupe; 233 WS6 coupe; 1535 total
Trans Am 6639 coupe; 783 vert; 7166 WS6 coupe; 1025 WS6 vert; 15613 total

They did pretty good for '02.
I wish they had gone a bit further.
Like I know my C/E is one of 839 T-top cars with the M6.
I wanted it broken out further. I want to know how many C/Es with T-Tops, manual trans, Hurst shifter, and WITHOUT traction control or 6-disc changers were built.

Thanks to ASC (who did the WS6 upfit) I learned that my car is the 41st C/E of the whole run and it's the 15th of the T-Top/M6 combos.
