A few, it is not the valve leaking, it is the droplets inside when you disconnect. If you want to check it, spray it with a degreaser before you attach the cap next time. I have changed the oil using the valve twice, never leaked a drop on my garage floor yet.

This makes total sense. Although the cap had a bit of oil on it, none--not a drop--leaked from the valve after I removed it, even though I had driven it to warm up the oil. I will give it a clean next time I have the car up on ramps.

Through user error, I did spill about a half teaspoon that dribbled down the side of the bag when I was removing the filter. I might either need to make bigger ramps for more clearance (to get a better view of what I'm doing) or go without the creeper next time, so I can slide far enough under the car to see the filter and better position the bag while I'm removing it.

Thanks again.

Just an update, one year later, the valve still working great… I went ahead and put one on my scooter as well, it has a drain plug that is an absolute bitch to get to…

This valve is a godsend when you're in an area where you can't spill a drop, like my condo garage.

I was getting my oil changed last weekend at a Tire & Service shop locally and asked them to swap out the drain plug for me. A few minutes later, the guy comes out sheepishly and tells me they snapped the plug when they over tightened it. They are buying me a new one. Sucks.

Is there a difference in these two?

Also, anyone buying pennzoil - don't forget to claim the $2/qt rebate that's going.
