Wound up being one of my favorite mods so far. It has actual paddles instead of buttons for the Tap-Shift (main reason), and the positioning for your hands is a major improvement. Also, the ergonomics for all the wheel buttons are just overall better when it comes to positioning. Tap-Shift is much more...uhh...reachable? It is hard to describe, but it really is a better designed wheel ergonomically. Of course this is all just my opinion, but I do believe it feels substantially better in-hand...and man, do I love that flat bottom. To answer your question, I know the 2013+ SS wheel does have an SS emblem/badge on it. Also, don't the 2013+ model years have the leather dash trim? Maybe that started on the '14s, not sure.

“Surprisingly, for wholesale prices of both used cars and used trucks, year-ago comparisons actually increased, for three out of the five months reported so far this year, according to auction firm ADESA. In May, the average used vehicle at wholesale auction sold for $11,138. That was an increase of 3.9 percent from May 2016, ADESA said in an analysis earlier this month.”

I bought a used 2013 2SS and it was the better option for me (MyLink, better rear view mirror, electric power steering, etc.). I hated the '14-'15 changes to the taillights and front end.

Same here; IMO, I bought mine at the optimum time. it was the end of 2013 and the '14s had just come out and that's what I thought I would get when I went to look for one. However the dealership had the 2013 2SS/RS I ended up getting sitting right next to a 2014 2SS/RS. For me, after seeing and test driving both, it was hands down the 2013 due to looks, I personally really like the looks of '13 and I didn't and still don't care for the refresh ('14-'15s), just as I don't really care for the looks of the 6th Gen. My wife feels the same, on several occasions when she's seen a new model she thanks me for getting the '13. I know there are many that feel the exact opposite and that's great ... it all comes down to personal choices and likes.

When the 2016s came out I was less critical of the refresh 5 Gens. |

13 was the sweet spot for sure everything the 10,11&12 had and nothing
less than the 14&15 had. bought my 13 in June of 14 but because of the special edition the price was not much less than the 14. but side by side on the dealers lot the 14 just didn`t look as bad ass. I`m sure some of that is how it was optioned. now I`m waiting on the 7th gen and hope it`s better looking than the 6th. |

Is there something about 2013 models that makes them inherently more valuable?
Not based on what I got for my '13 ZL1 vert on trade-in.
