LT V6 Motor is blown! With only 9,000 miles on the clock...need help!
So I called the dealership handling my camaro today and they told me, and I quote, "Oh its your crankshaft and connecting rods."
They JUST told me this/identified the problem after the car has been at the dealership since the 16th of SEPTEMBER! Its been over 20 days! FYI this car is a bone stock M6 and I made my scheduled oil changes at a dealership. The guy I talked to said they're ordering new parts or something and that I'm getting a REBUILD. This is just outrageous! A brand new car with only 9,000 miles and I get a rebuilt motor? And anyone who disagrees, would you buy a new car knowing you'll have a rebuilt motor in the 1st ten thousand miles? Hell no! Can anyone offer up some advice? If I was getting a new motor I could probably deal with it but this is just unsatisfactory, a rebuilt motor is no longer a new motor and it will probably have problems again down the road. The car has been in for 22 days so I'll be contacting a lawyer shortly to review my rights in terms of the lemon law. Hopefully GM can make this right because at this point I'm completely regretting buying this car and I'm actually considering using the lemon law to refund my FULL purchase price and buy a new car. If they make it right though I'm completely willing to let this all go and move forward with my car. UPDATE Here is the situation and I'd like some feedback from you guys: Blown/Broken bearing on cylinder #4, the entire bottom end basically needs to be replaced. Today was day 23 and the tech and service manager themselves told me the parts are on back order and I probably won't get the car back until two weeks from today. If that is true that puts my car in the shop well over 30 days, about 36 to be more exact. They didn't outright say it but they definitely implied that this is becoming a more widespread problem as the parts they need shouldn't be on back order. UPDATE # 2 I have been told I will receive my car back NEXT friday marking the final count at 44 days in the shop. I was told on the 7th of October that I would be receiving the car by tomorrow but today they said next week because they still have not got the parts in. OUTRAGEOUS! Rolling along...

Next time do a better job and crack the block too. It makes it harder for them to just rebuild your motor.

The warranty says they have the choice to rebuild or replace.
Push them to extend the warranty on the rebuild, it will still be your original motor with the damaged repaired. I have seen properly repaired blown engines ultimately outlast new ones as the infant mortality was gone, the engine was gone over and new parts installed. It's a machine and they live on.

Wow...this is one of the reasons I have not pulled the trigger...this bothers me that we can see a trend within this small community.

I was basically hung up on. My father and I are going to be paying them a visit tomorrow. He was more pissed than I was because I work for him and he knows how hard I work for that money.
