I'm still considering a V6 if they split the exhaust and if it tops 300 hp. I voted V8 though. The V8 is priority 1 for me, but cost out of college is a very important consideration. I'll probably make my decision by the end of September 2009.

I voted V6.
I'm still getting an 8. But GM's going to market the 6 very hard. They've worked on the car with the V6 very hard (50/50 weight, anyone?). And for good reason: They need it to sell if the Camaro line is going to survive. So it is actually MORE important than the V8. Having a 6 under the hood of Camaro makes it no less a performance machine than having a V8. Just think of it as different tiers of performance, rather than different classes. In fact, the V6 car this time around will probably handle better than the SS. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. Still, I'm getting a V8. 300hp is very impressive, but I want a little more is all. |

Yeah—Dragoneye was saying the the V6 is amazing and will crush much of the competition with light modification, but he still wants more power because muscle car guys like us are power greedy like that.

I do agree though, Chevy is really trying to push the V6 like they feel that the V6 has enough power, price and gas mpg to be the ultimate driving machine. There saying Don't put the V6 Down its just as good as the V8

I agree. It's all about the power under the hood and the ability to control that power. When it comes to muscle cars, that means big displacement and more cylinders. I want a V8. Hell—if I could afford the R&D on a W20 motor, I'd roll around with a ground-shaking, window-shattering 20-cylinders under my hood. I want more power, but I don't want to starve to death to pay for it. I'm all about the top model, but I might be rolling around in a cheap V6 with heavy modification to keep up with you guys rolling around in V8s.

I'll likely be living within walking distance or at most a few miles from work, so fuel economy isn't important to me. Thus I picked the V8. However, I consider the V6 a very solid choice and would definitely consider it for the price and insurance savings.

V6's allow the costs of things to be spread out making the V8's more affordable. I am getting the V8 though
