Here's the thread. The LS3 SS mufflers are pretty much a straight through design (minus some small holes).

But check out post # 104 to see the L99 A6 mufflers (yikes).

LS3 mufflers sound great in my opinion and are getting louder the more I drive it. This will be the first muscle car I will only be doing a intake but not exhaust. I've never been a heavy modder anyway. This car will most likely see the Vararam intake and Diablo Predator/Ntune or Trinity tune. That's gonna be it.

Yes....... anyone going to do the swap make sure you get the LS3 mufflers NOT the L99 ones!
The L99 mufflers are NOT straight through because of the AFM system on the V8 auto cars. It has to do with the shutting off & on of the 4cyls. & changes in the resonance and exhaust note.

please post a vid asap, i would like tp hear the difference Then i might just have to pay the shippig to get them here
PS the SS rear diffuser is different but not the exausts cut out holes, the diffuser itself actually comes down a bit more as towards the center, hiding the cans a bit more then the v6 one.
If this ends up sounding better, and someone doesnt mind passing up their LS3 exhaust for free, please pm me Gotta love Camaro5

hey guys, heres the link to fishtails vid on youtube. Whats all your opinions? I like it especially since its a relatively cheap mod.

Fishtail, is there any way you can film a drive by or take of vid going through the rpms?

Sounds really good! I'd also love a takeoff/drive by video.

WOW! I am really surprised by the difference over stock!

The revs do seem a little bit on the harsher side... Not bad though... especially for the price!

As other have said... would love to hear a good solid take off!

a nice take off vid, with a drive by and going through all the rpms would be a big help
Its ounds a little raspy, but not near as raspy as the stock exhaust. Overall its a better different sound from stock for cheap!
now im going to have to pm my fellow canadian SS owners to see if they have some cans lying around

Install depends a lot on installer - I'm thinking no more than 50-75 bucks though unless they're just way overcharging on labor. When I had mufflers installed on my 86 it cost 50 bucks for labor.

And it certainly wouldn't hurt power wise! No worse than any other axle-back, for sure. Look at scrming's dyno charts for an idea.

The OP installed exhaust from the L99 (more restrictive) to his automatic.

Oooo... I must have missed that part. Hmm... I guess we need another guinea pig to try the LS3 mufflers. I'd do it but I don't have a camaro yet.
