high rpm issue
hi I got a 2011 camaro 2ss, just small cam done about 25k miles ago all of a sudden I go out to run my buddy and we got on it at about 5k rpm my car starts to hesitate and lose power, cel light starts blinking. what's weird is the car runs fine at idle and drives normalits only when its WOT at about 5k rpm. I cant describe the sound it's almost like a vibration coming out my exhaust like it's not exhaustingeverything. any ideas on what I can check to diagnose this issue?

If the spring is broken, it will be obvious, but a weak spring is harder to diagnose. Normally I'd pull them off and test pressure individually but not everyone has that equipment available.
Start by reading the stored codes from the ECU. If the CEL is blinking then it is properly detecting the misfire. That code will give you the cylinder to chase and make it easier to identify the problem.

Could be a cracked spring too, just so know always warm the engine up fully before running it hard. Cold valve springs break-crack easily.

I’ll admit that most of what I know about cams, I learned here. But even I’d surmise that a taller lobe, more duration, etc., would require a spring tailored to that cam. Or that range of cam.

I was being sarcastic......most springs fail because of revving before the springs are up to temp.

From what I have read on here springs on high-lift cams may need to be changed as often as 20,000 miles.
So...
