ZL1 or Z28 Replica Wheels?
I was going to go ahead and get the factory RS wheels powder coated Matte Black, but I am sort of having a change of mind and thinking about just spending the extra money for a better looking set of wheels, and I would be really interested in a set of ZL1 or Z28 Replica Matte/Satin Wheels. I have a fresh set of Mickey T Street Comps for them, I wasn't sure if I would have to stay with the normal 20x9 n 20x10 or what depending on the tires. But either way looking for the best price for a set of these type of wheels if any of you have the best direction for me to go. Bonus would be if they seller had a "layaway" deal, was able to do layaway for my tires and was so much better! Thanks in advance!!

Here are two vendors selling the ZL1 replicas: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=295331
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258793 Only source for replica ZL1 10 spoke style wheels at this time I believe. The polished 5 spoke ZL1 wheels are all over ebay in different finishes. Your RS wheels are 20x9 and 20x8 too btw, but if you go up to 20x10 & 20x9 aftermarket wheels your stock sized tires should fit. Just double check the manufacturer's max widths on your tire sizes. The Z28 replicas wouldn't be out for at least a year or so would be my guess. GL |

What I like about the FR wheel many finished available and price. What I like about the LG wheel look very close to OEM.

If you're not going to push the car hard sideways (autoX, etc.,) then by all means why waste the extra money on the OEM rims? If you're just wanting the look, then repros are the way to go. 99% of the motoring public wouldn't have a clue they were repros anyway.
That said, all repros are not alike, so you still need to buy from a reputable manufacturer and ensure they meet minimum DOT requirements. If you do want to push the car hard in the corners, or all you want to do is brag about having OEM wheels, then by all means, buy OEM wheels. Used OEM wheels will still command more $$$, but if you want OEM and you are patient, the aftermarkets will get better, more and more used OEM wheels will start to show up, and hold the current OEM prices in check or even have them start dropping. To wit: at first, people that were selling takeoff SS midnight silver wheels were getting a pretty penny. Now....not so much. I remember thinking I got a great deal back in early 2010 paying $1100 shipped for a complete takeoff set of midnight silver wheels/tires/tpms/caps/lugs, the whole shooting match for tires that were taken off as soon as the car arrived at the dealership. I bought them as spares because at the time, that was way less than the price of a full set of tires alone (a set from tire rack now cost $955 delivered). Now you can probably get them for a lot less.
