Why is the headlight out of his car? Why did he shut off the light to do the demo. I kind of think he put in a dual color LED in the halo and thought it would be funny to show something like this.

Maybe not, but I can't see how reversing the polarity would work if it is an LED.
Ipod w/ onions??

About the lights: I want someone else to do it so I can see how long the lights will last before fizzling.

If these really are LEDs...no light should be coming out if you reverse the polarity

In fact, if you reverse the polarity with too high of a voltage you can fry your lights

so if this video is true...what could be causing it to happen? Doesn't make sense to me....

Watch the video again. Look at what else is on his bed just behind the light. Also notice there appears to be an edit at 1:22.

Do you see the light that he took apart on the bed there?

I'm thinking he installed a dual color LED in this other light and showed that.

Well, let's hope the OP comes back in here and clarifies. If he doesn't then shame on him for pulling this crap.

I dont think its real.

Led's are diodes. Diodes will forward bias when you reach their cut in voltage. Once that happens the diode will then allow current to flow through it aka forward bias.

If you try and force current the other way, the diode reverse biases keeping any current from flowing in the other direction, until you actually physically breakdown the diode.

This is why diodes are used to protect circuits, rectification, etc. Its like a 1 way valve. You can control where you want power to flow in a circuit.

Reversing the voltage will do nothing. The halos will not turn on.

Someone please put a big FAIL across this youtube video.

I didn't make this video, I just found it. I have no idea who that guy is or why he's doing what he's doing. I was just wondering if anyone knew about this already. Maybe someone can confirm it? I'm not about to try it myself which is why I asked if anyone experimented enough to get the same results.
