Will this "buff out" ???
I'm thinking it should, apparently the wife hasn't figured out the difference between lift vs drag.
not so great pics, but you get the idea. Is this able to be buffed out by hand or am I going to need a machine? |

Yes, it looks like it will, use a 4" pad with your machine first, maybe if it doesn't work to well a light wet sanding will do the trick.

Don't Like it? Suggit.

Worst case scenario you'll have an irregularity in your clear coat, hardly noticeable

You can do it by hand but it will take some elbow grease.Go to Autozone
and get some megs sratch x, or 3M rubbing compound. As long as you can run your fingernail over the scratch without it catching it will come out. |

Oh man, i think itis just scratched the Clear coat, so it should buff out... Not like what someone did to the back bumper of my HHR.. It went all the way through to the plastic... and it was black under the paint... does not look good on a Orange HHR...

I would use some clearcoat compound with a wet applicator and then buff with a buffer.
do it lightely a fews times checking it in between if you are not good with a buffer or if you know someone that is good buffing take it to them and it should come out. |

You know what i would try a simple product like scratchx before anything else. Doesnt look that bad at all from pictures. If you dont know anything about wet sanding do not try this on your new camaro imo.

Thanks for the tips, it feels more like it's on top of the paint if that makes any sense. I'll try the scrath-x first since it sounds the easiest

Be careful if you take a buffer to it!! You can burn the paint off the bumper in an instant if you're not careful...

some Meg's applicator pads and try to keep it even and flat when buffing out the scratch so you wont put swirls in it. And DONT bare down real hard on the pad. Numerous passes with moderate presure is alot better than a few hard passes. |

Hey, I have a question. How or what do you use to get bird POP off the the paint? We have lots of birds down here and if the POP sits it seems to damage the paint.
