Ok I looked at that spreadsheet and I have no idea what it is im looking at. What is the consensus in terms of which CAI is better than the other? I've never modded my car like this before so I want to make sure if im spending $300+ on a CAI I'm spending it wisely. Thanks!

The general consensus is pick the one that makes the most power and looks they way you want it to.
Ted.

Thanks JANNETTY RACING for an awesome job testing these air intakes! After reading through this thread (well, most of it) I know so much more about intakes now, and feel like I can make an informed decision
Placing my order for an Injen tonight, can't wait to get it installed

I just installed my Injen and it looks great. But one thing you should do before the install is wipe down the inside with a rag. There is some dirt on the inside wall that I would be worried about getting into the engine. Nothing else was wrong perfect fit easy install nice looks.

Probably Not since we pull in 3rd gear converter locked which would be similar to 3rd gear in a manual.
The overall numbers would be higher but the before and afters would be similar. Does that make Sense?

I am not looking for super performance but more speed is always fun, however, I am a daily driver and fuel economy is important to me. Am I reading the chart correctly that the Injen only increases fuel economy by 1%?? In that case wouldn't the CAI be the way to go?

The chart does not talk about fuel economy increases. Those are fuel trim numbers related to the computer and adjustments. Any of the systems are good, just some are better than others. Some look nicer than others. And some are easier to install than others. Pick one that you like the looks of, and go with it. If you are strictly interested in every last HP number, the chart shows which one to go after. Good Luck Again welcome to the team.

I'm not really a car guy so I'm still learning all of the terms.. I googled "Fuel Trim" and I understand what it means now... so does that mean a lower fuel trim would lead to better MPG? Last edited by RazorWolf417; 12-23-2010 at 08:32 PM. |
