What blower with SS4VVT cam?
Well the title says it all, what blower should I go with? I feel guilty about asking Ryan at GPI so many questions haha so I'll take it to the forums!
Mods are in my signature, little worried about the gears with FI but I'm sure it'll be alright. I make 490/436 on 91 octane as "cam only" right now. I've heard the 6l80e is good to about 650 before it starts becoming questionable, same with the L99. With that being said... I know a lot of blowers would get me there no problem. And have room to grow, what do you guys recommend?

hmmm, 3.90's with an A6....you're probably better off going with a centri blower (like a paxton, vortech or pro-charger), because boost is linear (with rpm) and not instant.

That's probably a good idea, yeah my setup is definitely for running 10s as n/a. I just ordered slicks and darkstars (praying they fit without grinding) so I'll report back what I run soon lol. Thanks for the suggestion man!

Def a Vortech YSI with that cam can make 700 RWHP easy with some octane.

That's what I was thinking, gotta find a decent deal on one somewhere haha. I'd think I could easily make 700ish if I'm 490 now! Sadly I only have 91 octane here so I'm getting robbed forsure haha. Do you think I would destroy the motor at 700rwhp or trans? I think it starts becoming dangerous around 650whp for both of them right? I drive pretty spiritedly lol, told Ryan to make the nastiest tunes he could for me at GPI as well

We are a Vortech dealer if your looking to go new or and ECS kit will get you in at a lower price but requires Meth injection. Ted.

Damn ss4 and FI? I always wondered about it but don't think I'd want to experiment with the combo

I've seen a few SS4 setups that are FI and I believe Ryan told me it'd be fine. I just don't wanna go above 650 too much for the sake of my motor and trans haha. Just trying to see what my options are, I'm deploying soon and plan on doing a big build when I come back and piecing it together when I'm gone.

Hmm, do you happen to know roughly how much it costs to build the 6l80e? And what companies are very good at it? I've read about it a few times on here just can't remember the names for the life of me. Thank you for the reply!

You can build a 6l80 but I feel as if it would be smarter to build a 4L80. That will give you much more room to grow. Let's get real, I'm sure you arnt going to stay at 650 forever.

You're right I won't stay at 650 forsure. I just don't like the idea of converting to the 4l80e in my daily, even when I'm blown I plan on driving this thing a ton haha. Idk maybe I'm weird.

Proper tuning will make a stock trans hold 650-700 RWHP for quite a while depending on usage. Fluid level and cooling are critical to trans survival. If you race weekly expect to freshen the trans like any other based on run count. Ted.
