Looking for a sub woofer
I would like to install a 10 or 12 inch sub woofer in my trunk & would like some input. I would like one sub with an amp that would plug into the existing system (like the factory system would). Also probably need an enclosure as well. Not looking for something super powerful (or pricey) that would give my premium BA system a good kick in the pants! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is what I did. 8" JL Audio Sub, Punch 300 Rockford Fosgate. Tapped directly into "x3" harness coming into the BA Amp in the trunk. Super Easy. I did a splice/solder but ******** and a few others suggest speaker taps.
Either way, no need to buy the sub kit offered by GM. I did mine for less than $450 and it really improved the sound of the stock BA system.

NO, the Rev limiter is not set to 118MPH... and YES, driving in this manner does affect MPG... |

Thanks guys, I looked at sub thump, seems package # 8 is about what I want for $425. They also want $90 for an amp rack. Is that necessary??

The amp rack is not needed... but for a nice clean look it will sure help.
I will be using it in my build, I like to keep the trunk as clean looking as the rest of the car!! |

In addition to the full amp rack, we offer a simple mounting board. If you like, stop by and I'll show you my car and the equipment we use in or packaged systems

I just can't go without my Diamond's. Kicker has gone flea market along with alot of other "high end" companies(rockford, soundstream, ect.) Check out Diamond D3 10's or 12's, Hertz, Audison, or Treo. We have the baddest cars on the planet! They deserve the best sound systems. Here is one that the stereo shop I used to work at did right before I left. 2 Diamond D3104.2, 1 pair Diamond D662 components in the front doors, Diamond D1000.2 Sub amp, Diamond D600.4 Highs amp (bridged to 2 channel), and the Audison Bitone. This thing was amazing!!! I thought mine sounded good until we got this one done, now mine needs some more tweeking.

I went with the Audio Integrations enclosure, an entry level Diamond running off a small amp I had laying around that went in the spare tire area. Plenty for me, and I still have my trunk room.

I personally like kenwoods. It all depends on how much you want to spend too. I only spent $300 for 2 of the newest released 12 inch subs and a kenwood amp. They were on sale around christmas so I couldn't pass it up. They sound amazing and eventually I'll do a custom install to make it look more BA in my trunk. If you want to know the exact model numbers or anything just PM me.

ive heard memphis makes a good subwoofer but have only got to hear one once (i think a m3) and it sounded really good, hit hard as hell! im currently looking at either a jl w7 or a memphis mojo 12...but those are really big ones i do imagine they make smaller ones though. anyone else have experience with memphis?

I've had great experience with Orion the HDAA series. It's a comp. sub so it sounds great and the bass is amazing. If you want pure power I'd go with that. The diamonds work really great as well, my friend had 2 in his jeep. They sound great on the inside and they aren't very loud on the outside so it sounds pretty perfect for what you're looking for.
