buick grand national coming back!

Very Cool!

"2016 Grand National shares its platform with Cadillac ATS and six-gen of Chevy Camaro. It is GM’s highly-praised Alpha architecture. The design cues and style direction is not known so far, but it should be sports-oriented body shape, with specially designed wheels and accentuated front grill.

wow, finally a Buick that catches my attention. but that wheel gap being so small doesn't seem remotely stock... looks more modded or photo-shopped. another problem is it's not a V8. won't buy no turbo 6... don't care if it's better.

Disappointed it looks like that. I had hoped it was going to take cues from the Riviera concept car, low and sleek: http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...-language.html

Oh boy! Another classic example of American muscle from years gone by, turned into a four-door grocery getter (see, Dodge Charger). Just what we need.

I have read similar sentiments and it confuses me.

Grand Nationals were always Turbo sixes. Never had a V8.

If Buick was making a V8 car like this, it would be a Gran Sport (no "d", Grand Sports were Corvettes) or GSX

Agreed. I'd rather no GN at all than a domesticated GN. Waste of the nameplate.

In fact, this car brings to mind the rumors of a new Buick Wildcat I heard around 2010.

Still prototype so, no the production won't be quite like that.... just like the Camaro had to evolve a bit to meet production requirements.

Grand Nationals should be turbo 6s to match the history.

All the pics are of a 4 door but the article states the car will be 2 door, so what should it look like?

i have seen several renderings of the car and they all looked different.the 2 door version looked really good.don't think they should put it out in a 4 door.but you can bet if it does get built it will be one bad ass car.my old 87 gn would out run my 2010 SS.

This is an article from 4 months ago based on no facts from GM. I'll believe it when I see it. If they do make one it really needs to have the twin turbo V6 from the ATS-V/CTS V-Sport. The GN was a turbo 6 and should remain as such. It was also a Regal at heart so I'd be surprised if they did one based on the ATS platform and not the one the current Regal shares with Opel. However there's no reason they couldn't. But a GN or GNX with anything less then a turbo 6 seems like it would be a mistake. At least to me.

yea I know they were 6's. and I know they were supposedly faster than the Corvette in '85 or '86.

still... it's a 6... as in sounds like crap compared to a V8.

gimme a LS V8 with 400hp.
