Anyone got any pictures of power and ground?

Anyone got any pictures of your wired power and ground for an amp? I am looking at putting the ground on the bolt that is mounted to the trunk from the negative and using the bolt on the side of the positive terminal for the power.

Just want to make sure this should be ok.
I put the pictures below. I want to run the negative wire to the bolt that is pictured...and for the postive the bolt that is the left of the positive terminal. Sorry...tad new with the wiring here.

Most people just ground back to the battery since it is so close.

Not trying to say you are wrong, but can you please give details as to why this would cause noise / popping? Just curious.

The engine noise will mainly be picked up in the RCAs. Ground is ground. If there are noise issues, move the RCAs. Grounding to the frame in the trunk is like using 2 short extension cords, when you have 1 thats the perfect length already. Ive NEVER had a system pop or make noise from being grounded directly to the battery.

just for fun, this was a convertible Escalade (ya, i know!) that was built at some ghetto shop. Came in in horrible shape. Lots of surprises. Like this one. This is NOT how you ground something:

Seen lots of welding ground leads worse than that over the years. Grounds need a solid connection just as much as the power lead. If too small or not tight you get something like the pic above or worse. Not to mention poor amp performance.

Is that melted because they were to lazy to strip the wire? Or because the ground got hot?

there was so much resistance at the point of contact, with the paint not getting stripped, the screw and the crimp actually got red hot. the bottom of the carpet pad was pretty melted too. If you look close you can see how discolored the screw is from getting hot. Surprised it didnt catch anything on fire!!!

That's where I mounted my ground. Easy.
Also heard the same thing about static from mounting the ground to the battery.
