Because it all depends on your record and even more so where you live. If you lived in South Florida you can triple that.

Hadn't seen the rest of your posts. You could tell it was going to be costly because the number of parts that were affected more parts off course means more money for each and more man hours. Man hours is probably just as costly as parts if not more so. The rates depend on your region, if you had your car in Miami or LA the cost just went up by 4 thousand.

Average labor rate around here is like $50/hr

still sorry it happened, I had a similar experience many years ago in my 68
but I fixed it and went on. Glad you are doing the same
