If you are happy with your deal and your car it does not matter if you bought it new or used.
Just drive it and have fun...

There weren't any used ones when I bought mine. You couldn't even find new ones. Sticker price included a lot of wow factor. Everywhere I went people said "wow..." Since I had never experienced that, I would definitely say it was worth it.

Biggest problem I see buying the SS used is the previous owner very likely beat the piss out of it.

That's rough, and now it's a 3 year old car.....time flies, mine has less than 4000 miles on it.

$10,000 over 36 months is a cost of $278/month. That's not a bad lease for a car with 400 horsepower.

During the 20% off sale if you blue booked a 14 1ss with only 100 miles it would calculate closer to 25% off sticker. Thus, if you did not get at least 25% off you took a depreciation hit as soon as your drove off the lot.

I saw some dealers with 25%-30% off 2ss models but they sold in days and most were on the east coast.

Now I want a manual after we a got 1LT in a manual last year.. I can't get the keys from her ever!!!Went to trade in my car during the 20% sale and the dealer low balled me. So I went on Autotrader and see 2010 2SS for $18-$20 with almost the same mileage as mine. Thinking about selling my 1SS, going back 2 years for a fully loaded 2SS. The only difference is the steering wheel.
Hi sonnydurden,
Yes - new worked out well for me. Did almost the same thing you are attempting.
Saw the Chevrolet 20% off MSRP special suddenly appear and found only two NEW Red Hot Color 2014 Camaro 2SS/RS in the Southeast with Short-Throw Shifter and NPP Dual-Mode exhaust. Called the dealer closest to me, 200 miles away, and told them I would be there first thing in a.m. (day after Christmas) to look at the car. Asked them if they would match my highest appraisal on the trade (which was from Carmax and I thought very generous - had three places give me appraisals and offers) ... the dealer said they would likely match Carmax. Got there an hour before the Salesroom opened in the a.m. and waited in Service area for showroom to open.

Deal worked out ... after final tally (dealer had installed Gill stripes, extra tint panels on side windows, nose stripe and some other minor extras). With GM card points that ended up with about a total of 23% off MSRP.

If trade offer at dealer is close to your highest appraisal, may be good idea to take it (did you try Carmax?) -- if you own the car the trade value is subtracted off the new car price before tax is calculated -- saved me about $600 in taxes. My car was in super mint condition, 16,000 miles, dealer was amazed. If no one is giving you a decent/good offer on the trade maybe a private sale would be best. You could take your time and maybe the 2015's will be getting a huge discount when the GEN6 2016 Camaro starts to appear. However, there are a couple reasons why I did not want to go with a GEN6, so I didn't wait, that is another story.

2SS/RS Package ...
The Chevy SS OEM nose stripe would not be something I would have picked but it came with the extra package -- all other options it came with are great -- nice to have but I really don't need them. Never thought I'd use the HUD but actually that is a blast; and the Ambient Door Panel Light Tubes glow nicely at night. The RS lights front and rear are interesting (I however prefer 2013 taillights); trying my best to get use to the new design ;-)

Getting a new car and warranty is probably a good choice in some cases ... not sure how dependable all the gadgets will be on 2SS, and does have the drivetrain clank mentioned often in the forum if not precisely matching engine revs/gear/clutch release when shifting, ha ha.

You lose value on the car the second you drive it off the lot, between 10-20%

I will never buy a used car ever again, too many issues, both of my Camaro's were purchased new and im content with that, doesn't matter how much they have depreciated since I plan on keeping my 2013 for a LONG time

In early Dec I bought a 2012 2SS/RS with only 20,700 miles on it. nADA value was $28000 and I got it for $24,200. Original sticker was $38,000 with the extra charge for IOM paint and the Hurst shifter. I think I did really well as the depreciation is going to go slow now

The condition of the car was incredible. Not a scratch on it the exterior or the interior. Not sure how the original owner kept it so perfect.
