ZL1 Michelin Pilot Sport 4s

I was looking to upgrade my stock Good years for a better road tire. I was looking at the MPSS, but the new MPS 4S are supposed to be better in nearly every aspect.
Unfortunately they don't come in stock ZL1 sizes for the rear. 305/35R20. The closest they have is 295/35R20 and 305/30R20. Dropping to 295 keeps the diameter close, but I'm losing contact patch. 305/30 drops the diameter by 1.2" and I think that will mess with the car and the looks. Does anyone have any suggestions? The new MPS4S seem great but the only alternative I see is go with MPSS 285/35 and 315/35. They cost more and have worse performance than the new 4s.

I recently was looking at the MP4S and found that there is a Michelin part number for a 305/35/20 MP4S. See MPN 20855. https://www.1010tires.com/Tires/Mich...Sport+4S/20855

The front 285/35/20 have been available for a while, MPN 26716

Note, I have not actually seen or purchased these so they may not be available yet. However, with the Hellcat widebody cars coming with 305/35/20 tires are all 4 corners, I expect we will see a better selection of tires available in stock ZL1 sizes soon...

If they do come out with the 305/35R20 that'd would be perfect. Even better would be a 315/35.

Rob, 315 would be great but from what I've read and heard the MP4S are worth waiting for over the MPSS

after searching 20854, I also found 72239.
It's a 315/35ZR20 XL tire. It's apparently real. I see links to it on Amazon and other places and an actual picture of one on eBay. Odd that it's taken of Michelins website.

I have mpss sport 4 in 315 it wasn't available in the 4s same tire pretty close its a Porsche spec size

I spoke with Michelin and they started the 305/35R20 is currently in production with a tentative release date of June 2019. Though the rep said this date was not firm. Good news is that it is listed in their website now.
Also they are making a 315/35R20 part number 07074. It might be a run flat though. They are planning to release them this coming fall.

They've been saying that for a few a years now, so we'll see if they actually release them. I wad thinking of going with the regular 4 (non S) which is very similar with a softer sidewall, but I decided not since I got a smoking deal on 4 285/35/20's for a square setup. I have to say, I like the handling better compared to a staggered set up. More balanced and neutral feel when ripping through the twisties. Definitely a great tire.

that is good to hear I have a 285 35 19 re 71 set up yet to try! put the 32 mm Blackmagic sway bar on for the 315, 275 street set up the plain ole 4 series to help with understeer it had .

I was wondering what swaybar combo you run with the square 285?

I run the stock ZL1 front bar with BMR end links and poly bushings in billet saddles. I have an adjustable Pfadt rear bar (stock end links) also with poly bushings and billet saddles. It's currently set to the softest position. It worked good with the staggered set up, but perfect with square. More predictable imo.

I also have the Z/28 front radius arm inserts and rear upper control arm bushings with Pregasus solid bushings for the rear cradle.

Just got a fresh set of MPS4S put on over the weekend. Absolutely amazing. Way better than the stock good years.

Bringing this back up.
Looking to buy a set of 4s's for my zl1.
On tire racks site, these list two types of 315/35-20s. One is NDO porsche and the other is k1 Ferrari.
For the fronts they list three types of 285/35-20s. One has no code, one is k2 Ferrari and the other is star BMW.

Which ones should I order?
