Thumbs up New BF Goodrich COMP 2 A/S Tires

I just got these tires from Tire Rack and had them installed at Discount Tire. I am running an A6 in my ZL1. These tires are better than the original Goodyear factory tires. I have a better launch and a much better 1-2 shift transition from a dead stop. These are rated for year round use, as opposed to summer only dry drive Goodyears. I have not tried them out in the rain yet, it does seem that I get caught out in the rain on my way home from cars shows this year, so that should happen soon (very rainy in Ohio this summer). Perhaps the Goodyears are a better track tire, but my concern is more straight line stop light launch traction, 1-2 transition (yes, I am 60 yo and still do stop light/stop sign burnouts, it is my only pleasure!) and rain. What is your experience with your tires? I had the original size tires installed, I didn't go 1 size bigger (wider) in the rear as many people do. Didn't want to take a chance with traction control woes etc.

I have had them on the car for last 4yr. Bought the car used with 4.5k on it and now its at 16.5k ... awesome tire even with ~675rwhp.

Rain and cold is no problem, just keep your foot out of it or run he car in the ptm wet mode.

Width of the tire will not affect traction control.

You will be able spin them from a stop. They won’t perform like a DR

The only negative thing i have to say about the Comp2 is that i liked the old tread pattern better as these resemble an all terrain tire on the shoulder block; other than that i sold my brother on them 2 years ago and i will be getting them when i need to replace my Nittos.

I like them a lot. I don't spin the tires. My thing is accelerating for turns. That's where this heavy car really shines. They are good for .9g but quite loud under the load with the windows down. No squeal, just loud.

I have them on my 1LE and I too really like them. Much better dry traction than the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3 that I was running.

I agree with this. That's the one thing that stood out to me when I got them.

Verts don't have PTM wet mode.

I've had these on my car for over a year now and really like them. Had them on a previous car so I kind of knew what I was getting.

Last year coming home from the Camaro Sturgis rally we were in alot of rainstorms. The wife was driving, keeping up in traffic and the tires did a great job keeping us planted. They seem to be a real good tire in the rain.

These replaced the PZero summer tires on my Gen 5. They are great tires in the rain, on extended cruises, and even hook up well at the drag strip.

Highly recommended.

Had them on the 2LT before I traded it. In my experience, way better wear rate than the P Zeros. Less tire noise as well. Running Coopers on the SS. When they’re done, it’ll be the BF’s.

I always liked Cooper (Cobra Radial GT) tires, but don't think they make them for my 13 ZL1 with the odd tire size. Probably lucky BF Goodrich makes tires for it.

Rim size is the limitation on Cobras. 15 inch wheels.
