that depends on your perception of a "very reasonable amount of money"

for a guy making millions a year, a reasonable amount of money is different from a guy making less than 50k.

according to my MOROSO power speed calculator a 2500 pound race car with a 200 pound driver would need 858 horse power to run 8.95.
858 horse power from a junk yard motor?

another calculator at http://robrobinette.com/et.htm shows it takes 875 horsepower to go 8.93.

a junk yard motor?
what's your thoughts? hype or truth?

Go to LS1 tech and see. Many people have run 9's on junkyard motors with a basic nitrous kit or FI. Last a long time? no , but runs fast.

These LS motors can kick a$$.

I'll be at the shop this week. I'll snoop around and do my best to foil this build as well. I won't relinquish my "fastest Jannetty camaro" title without a fight!

A seasoned motor is still a motor. Getting the right LS "junkyard" motor will not relieve anyone of still having to properly prepare the block. Say a fourth gen Camaro with 200000 miles on it is wrecked and scrapped. Pull the motor, prep the block, machine work, decking, align bore, sleeves, etc... Same thing to the heads and yes it's possible...the relative amount of money is as someone pointed out, dependent on ones perspective...and income...
