Hi All
Just thought I'd get in on this, In our paint shop ( A ) we are always looking to Improve, the coveralls that we wear, the air is climate controlled, sun block added to the paint to stop fading, orange peel is on all cars due to powder prime (water base )The Bell pattern,Voltage,Metal,The Z coat.( When you charge the powder, the way it lays, the way the car body heats up in the oven. These are just a start on why PEEL ?
Even with top coat going on ( water base ) you get peel,Clear coat (solvent base ) has helped mask most of the peel but still there ! The only true way to have no peel wet sand and polish, yes wax buildup does help by filling in.

Simply this,If you don't want the texture "orange peal" then cut and buff, but you better know what your doing or you will burn through the clear, because there is not much on there from the factory never has been, and never will be,Sooooooo be careful guys..

I was looking at my Chili Pepper Red Sky the other day after It was washed and If the Camaro's paint is as good as this then you will be happy with it. Man this car is a year and a half old and sits outside every day all day long and it looks just like new...Shiny and not a bad place at all in the paint.
Paint finishes have come a long way. My Sunburst Orange Metallic II HHR is almost 2 years old and it also sits outside and when washed it still looks new also.

Its not really OCD.When i use the filters, the soap suds up soo much more,i dont have to worry about sand in the pipes getting on the car and being ground into the paint, and i dont have to work as fast to dry it because it doesnt leave water spots . So its more of a conveniance thing

After hearing all the Zaino hype on here...

I ordered $200 worth of Zaino products about a week and a half ago...

..........Z-KIT1 and Z-TRIO

I used them on my wifes 1-week-old 2009 Mustang GT/CS....

...wow...

...I mean, WOW... it was a "vapor" grey... now it looks like molten silver ... too bad its a Mustang....

It i cant wait to put it on my Black 2SS/RS and park right next to her in the garage....it will be priceless....
:seesaw::slice:

I used.... Dawn, Z-18 claybar, Z-AIO, Z-5, Z-6, Z-2, Z-8 in that order. I plan to do the Z-CS later this week.

Be ready for a full 2 days of detailing the exterior.... but ......WOW!!

I just recently ordered an arsonal of zaino products to try. I've heard rave reviews about them for years, but never ponied up the $$ for it.

Just follow their instructions to the T and you wont be disappointed

The very first time you give your car the full treatment ( claybar ,polish etc.) plan for it to take up the whole day. after that regular maintenance is no problem.

Factory paint condition

The more you rub the car the better it will be. Use a very fine rubbing compoud. I use 3m 5990 it is good stuff, I have Farecla fine compund it works well also. Very important, Put it on with an applicator that won't burn the paint. Sears have some right angle ones that work well. Doing it all at once with a high speed can be dangerous. After time the finish will smooth out. If you re-clear the car people will think it's been crashed regardless of what you say. They will ask why was the car painted, your answer will not convince them unless you are a man of the cloth
