Trickflow GenX 255 LS3 Heads
Heard Trickflow recently came out with a new 255 Head boasting 12 degree valve angle instead of a 15 degree to accept larger cams. Intake valve 2.165, exhaust 1.600 with 69cc chambers. Anyone hear anything good about them yet? I'm torn apart on deciding which heads/cam to get. I'm looking forward to FI in the future but want to slap on heads/cam now!

They had been "coming soon" with an LS3 head for years. Mast or Texas Speed are both good and been around a while.

If they are availible get them. I wouldnt have any problem running the new Trick Flow heads over the Mast and PRC considering the price differences. They have been in R and D for like over 3 years now so they better rock. Last year I was going to get them but got tired of wainting and got the PRC's. Funny enough over a year ago they were saying that they would be availible soon just like they are today. When they do start to finally ship them i'm sure they will be great or at least they better be LOL

Isn't better $$ wise to send off our heads to A.I. or SDPC to have them worked on to flow just as well or no?

yes and no.
yes if u dont want to run big cams and not looking for all u can get out of ur n/a motor. but if u got the coin and want to run high lifts and hi compression aftermarket castings are the way to go. |

Its good to go aftermarket on rowdier builds because the valve angle is changed which will help flow and improve ptv clearance. Porting factory castings is very well worth while, but if you have the coin to spend, an aftermarket casting will be better.

Looks like they have solid valves, not a fan of heavier valvetrain.

I would prefer a lightweight valve as well. Is there an option I wonder?

What about these?
I think SDPC offers the option for different valves. http://www.jegs.com/p/GM-Performance...11558/10002/-1

Those are just stock castings that GMPP ports. Why they still come with springs intended for stock cams I have no idea. If they had a bare head option I'd do that as the best value and reuse my old valves and real springs. They lack most of the benefits of aftermarket castings such as valve angle, PTV clearance, revised runner design/size, and thicker decks.

Thinking about these. Or sending mine back to SDPC for more work.
