Velocity is uber important for sure no doubt.

The IM chokes down a bit just inside the opening so the opening itself at 93mm is misleading and yes, NEVER bigger to smaller in any transition.

the 102 to stock intake would be bigger than the intake opening so that's why I agree it's not good on a stock manifold. I didn't mean to imply a bigger tb than the manifold opening even though I failed to clarify. just that up to as big as the stock intake opening. sort of points in the direction of vmax or bbk being optimally sized for stock intake. it's good to know the intake is 93.8, though, I wonder if the bbk necks down to match and only the front is 95mm?

seems like that would also contribute to the drawing earlier of velocity enhancing shape.

either way, if the intake manifold and heads provide velocity, all you need to do is have as much air as you can present and available when the valve opens.
Well then my 5.0 was a fluke then, because it made 50+ hp but only about 10lb-ft of torque. And that's with just the boss mani and a JLT intake.

But anyway, back to topic lol

that's because those 5.0s only make power above 5250. Lolz.

Here is the solution for the FAST 102 when using a 90mm TB. The VMax Velocity ring with the VMax 90mm on the average cam car or bolt on we see MORE power than the 102mm FAST TB.

Not until big valve heads, etc does the 102 shine:

Actually with the stock intake manifold, the 5.0 makes power across the band. Yes it makes it better up high, but it's still good at producing it down low too. The boss intake just makes it more difficult to make power down low. My car would turn 7500 Rpms and made power all the way to redline.

And again, back to topic lol

well all engines make power down low. just not as much as others.. don't forget about gearing in the rear and trans as well, tire diameter, etc etc.

We had our BBK meet today in Temecula and I said I'd let you know what I found out about the 95mm TB so here ya go.

The 95mm AND 102mm TB's will be available in OCTOBER. I was told the date, but it was 107 and my brain lost that little detail. I believe it was the 2-3 week of October.

I know it's been a while, but they are done and will be going out to retailers very very soon. BBK has been working through a huge remodel inside their manufacturing plant, which is what had caused the delay. Well, it is over and production is ramping up.

The exhaust systems and CAI's are built across the street so those parts were not effected by the construction. It wasn't just the Camaro's TB's that were put on the back burner during the construction, so stay tuned for more info coming soon.
