Comparison: 2015 BMW M4 vs 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS

Interesting Motor Trend article, might have to do the upgrade after all!

The '16 SS is really an outstanding car and it's really more of an 5thgen 1LE equivalent from a performance standpoint.

It understeers more than the 5th gen 1LE.

Yup but GM says the new SS is faster on a track same day same driver even with the run-flats. Impressive.

But to your point, a more nuetral car is more fun to drive to me. But you also need to pay more attention to your driving.

The new 1LE should fix that. I wonder how close it will be to the 5thG Z/28? There are indications a CA6 Z/28 is in the works. Could the parallels with the Corvette be:

Z51 = 1LE
GS = Z/28
Z06 = ZL1

Time will tell. So many choices....

Anytime magazines compare an American muscle car to an M3 it's a good thing.

Probably because of it's faster capability but compared to my car now I was heavily disappointed with the 2016 SS Manual car I drove. It feels like even a square setup would'nt save it like would the gen 5.

The 5th gen also understeers in regular SS trim.. even a 435i will understeer initially. Understeer is deliberately tuned in to mainstream cars to avoid this from happening when people lift off the throttle.

Way more. It's to do with weight distribution, suspension tuning and the staggered setup. The 5th gen has better weight distribution.

Yes you can really feel the push. And it took way more than a square tire set up to save the 5th gen SS.

What I think though, is just a little more rear sway bar and a square tire setup would do wonders for the CA6 SS.

Looking forward to the 1LE parts once they come out.
