Has anyone made the switch from the ZL1 to the Stingray

As the title says. I'm just a little curious as to how did you like it or didn't as well as pros and cons. I have done many of searches just looking for a non bias answer. I don't track the car (course or drag) but I do drive spiritedly it's also my DD.

I bought a 6 spd 2014 Stingray and while it's a great car, my Z is better performing and a more comfortable drive. Didn't sell my Z, but Thought I could use the Stingray as a daily driver and just couldn't wear a suit and tie every day getting in and out of it so I sold it in October. My Z is still my play car, but have a Chevy/Holden SS on order for my DD

Thanks for the input but if I'm wearing a suit and tie I'll drive my Escalade and would be with the wife.

I got a ZL1 and the wife has C7 Z51 Vette. Would not trade either one. Both are great cars.

I traded my '14 C7 coupe for my '15 ZL1 and haven't looked back.

I love my Z.

I just test drove a C7 vette last week. Honestly my ZL1 is in the shop for upgrades so often that I have hardly driven it in a year..... I'm considering purchasing a C7 for a daily driver/ road racing car and just using the Camaro for straight line racing or an occasional trip out to the road course to set some really hot laps. If you want to mod a car, there probably is not a car out there that has the huge potential the ZL1 Camaro has. The stingray is a lot lighter car and has a lot less room... I was pretty impressed with the sitngray.

I love the new Stingray but simply cannot get rid of my ZL1. My wonderful wife let me keep the ZL1 and buy a Z51 too. The two are very much alike and very different at the same time. The ZL1 is like driving old school muscle and driving the Vette is like driving a scalpel. I have tracked the ZL1 at Sebring and Homestead. I look forward to tracking the Vette soon.

Think it depends on what your plans are for the car. I'm quite undecided right now. I have a 2012 vette, base model. Spouse has a '14 Z51 3LT Stingray. I've just finished a few test drives in a manual ZL1, and holy crud, am I in love. I've used the C6 as my DD for the past 14 months, but for 80 miles a day over some rough roads, it's beating me up pretty good. As someone else mentioned, the C7 is like a razor - it's sharp, precise, and an extremely intense yet easy to drive funmobile. But, I don't think I can do it as a DD, which is why I'm thinking about the ZL1. Feels like a super muscle car with high comfort factor, versus true super car with luxury, but not necessarily daily comfort.

Update - I bought the ZL1. I feel it's the better daily driver which is my need. BUT, for pure fun factor ... man, the stingray is kick @$$.

I love my ZL1 but I am seriously considering a Z06 ...

I love the ZL1 but I'm starting to realize I really don't need the rear seats so I'm looking for a faster 2 seater that feels as raw as the ZL1 on the street.

I'm hoping the Z06 will do the trick.
