driver or passenger side cannot have tint and anything else legally tinted cannot be less than 35%.

Really does depend on state. Example- Arizona you can have limo tint on rear windows and on front windows you can have what they call "Arizona legal" cant remember what the % is though.

You are here: HOME -> New Hampshire Window Tint Law
New Hampshire Window Tint Law
New Hampshire Tint Law Enacted: 1990
HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE?

Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In New Hampshire, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 6 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows No tint can be applied legally to this window.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 35% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 35% of light in.

HOW REFLECTIVE CAN THE TINT BE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE?

Similar to sunglass lenses, some tinting film contain metallic elements that help in reflecting incoming light and reducing the glare and heat generated by visible light.

Front Side Windows No metallic or mirrored appearance.
Back Side Windows No metallic or mirrored appearance.

OTHER NEW HAMPSHIRE RULES AND REGULATIONS

Restricted Colors No colors of tint are explicitly banned.
Side Mirrors Dual side mirrors are required if back window is tinted.
Certificate Requirements Manufacturers of film do NOT need to certify the film they sell in the state.
Sticker Requirements State law recommends but does not require stickers to identify legal tinting.
Medical Exemption

Thanks. That confirmed what I had already thought.

No tint permitted on the front sides and as dark as you want to on the rear windows and back.

What does 'VISOR' mean? The strip across the top of the front windshield? Because it says 'NO' yet I know you're allowed 6" of tint.

And what does 'Net/Film' mean?

The visor is the top strip of the front window. You should get clarification in your state about it. Some states might allow the factory tint on the visor but no aftermarket tint.

Net/Film my best guess

Net is total allowance from combined (tint/glass/ and factory tint)
Film is the film by itself not installed

actually, id wager to say that it is for the window decals that people put on but have holes to see thru thus making them a "net"

like this http://www.xtreme-concepts.com/Galle.../cp001_jpg.htm

I live in Canada and the law isnt against the darkness its against having plastic glued to the glass. It holds it together in an accident and doesnt let it shatter safely. Thats why it is illegal. in canada anyway. If you can get windows that are "smoked" like factory ones then technically they can be dark as hell and still be legal.
